John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk pop music inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado as John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fames' inaugural inductee was recognized by the honor in 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. When you encounter people from different countries, such as New Zealanders, and they say "I come originally from Colorado" then they reply with "Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint in folk groups and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver recognized that the song could turn into a hit once it was discovered that an earlier version. The singer recorded the song within a couple of days when he performed it in front of crowds of enthusiastic fans in Washington D.C.
